London 2012 - Fair Price Charter for the East of England
Tourism businesses in the East of England are being urged to sign up to the Fair Price Charter for the region which has just been launched by East of England Tourism.
Major global events such as the London2012 Games offer both opportunities and challenges for tourism businesses. Businesses need to maximise profitability – but not at the cost of the region’s longer-term reputation. And, of course, visitors expect value for money and reassurance that the price they pay up front will not be compromised by late discounting.
The Fair Price Charter will allow decision makers to identify accommodation providers and venues in the East of England who have made a firm commitment to reasonable and fair trading terms in 2012.
The Fair Price Charter is recognised, endorsed and promoted by EET, LOCOG (London2012 Organising Committee of the Olympic Games), VisitBritain and the BHA (British Hospitality Association). Accommodation providers and venues can sign up now, by going to www.eet.org.uk/fpc.

Registration for London 2012 Open Weekend opens!
The London 2012 Open Weekend is back for 2010, and takes place from Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th July. This year, we're hoping that more of Norfolk's cultural and sporting organisations and venues will join and celebrate only two years to go until the Olympic and Paralympic Games!
For 2010, London 2012 are asking participating organisations to set a challenge for the public to participate in. The challenge could be to create a new piece of art in 24 hours, organise a treasure hunt or stage a mass aerobics session - it's entirely up to you. 21 events took place in Norfolk over Open Weekend 2009, and we've set ourselves the challenge of doubling this in 2010. We ask that your event:
- Sets a challenge that the public can participate in
- Takes place between 23-25 July 2010
- Is non-commercial and not-for-profit
- Does not have any commercial sponsorship or offer any similar marketing rights
- Is open to everyone
To find out more and to register an event visit www.london2012.com/openweekend. Registration will close at 12 noon on 16 July 2010.
